J.M. Caldwell Sr. Community Park Location
Situated at 500 W College Avenue Princeton, TX 75407, J.M. Caldwell Sr. Community Park provides an array of amenities crafted to cater to both relaxation and exhilaration.

History of the Park
The park has a rich history dating back to 1940, when it served as a migratory camp for workers during the onion and cotton seasons. With capacities of up to 400 migrants, it was a bustling place. One of the campsite’s most notable features was an overhead storage tank that held 30,000 gallons of water. Additionally, the camp was home to 76 cabins made of California redwood, equipped with the basic necessities. In 1945, the camp became a prisoner of war (POW) camp for Germans captured during World War II. The POWs were paid to work on local farms, a practice continued for eight months.
